I’m not one for fluffy romance novels but I craved a light read, and I’m rather fascinated by the concept of beauty and elegance. They always have gay friends.
They are always buying clothes they can’t possibly afford. Then you ask yourself quite seriously if you can put up with reading fifty more pages of this I will recommend it for those who, like myself, like a fun read about fashion and becomng a swan instead of an ugly ducklingwhat leegance be more appealing?

Mar 15, Ape rated it liked it Shelves: It starts out well, but just doesn’t deliver. I liked it very much, but not as good as ‘The Perfume Collector’. Rarely do I dislike a book enough to chuck it before it is done, but this one may hold a record for how quickly I grew bored with it.
I blame the beautiful Atelier Millinerys I started following on Facebook, along with the hashtag wearmorehats.
I found her petulant, whiny and selfish and I quickly grew bored of her and her theatrics. Refresh and try again. As she strives to follow the book’s advice, she learns, little by little, that there are more important things in life than looks, clothes, even elegance. There’s nothing wrong with jeans or hanging out at home in sweats and that after she fucked things up with the cute guy at the end, she realized it and went back and made it better. It’s the quest to find and exude the beauty from within, rather than be subservient to the latest trendy fashion.
It just dates a book.
Plus she made her therapist feel really bad for no reason except that she Louise is screwed up and integrally mean. Louise is not getting anything from her therapy sessions: Convinced she will emerge the very image of Audrey Tessari and Grace Kelly, Louise throws herself wholeheartedly into the endeavor, hanging on epegance word of the slim grey tome.
